“The Germans are disputing it. Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx is claiming it was offside.”
It was a tight call (Offside/Onside)
have to give it to the Greeks they dominated by the get go. Germany were effectively a man down when they chose Beckenbauer.
The look on Beckenbauer’s face was brilliant when the match starts off.
All philophy professors should test their students with this, if they laugh, that means that they get it. (I’m just not too sure about the part about Kant though)
So many people like the dead parrot sketch… but this one is the best !!
He was offside! Marx was right!
Beckenbauer was wasted…
@martini1179
you’ve misses the joke then. That comment is hinting at Marx’s concluding remarks on the theses on Feuerbach and his abandonment of philosophy.
@Sirbringabel hahaha clever XD
God, I wish today’s comedies are as sophisticated as Monty Python.

HOW DARE they swap Wittgenstein for Marx! One of the greatest philosophers of all time to a pseudo-philosopher?
Was still offsides, though… you all knew it. Marx was right.
@odinsothereye Marx would have thought that the goal was more like a bourgeois plot to divide the proletariat.
Surely Plato should be the man in form?
wow, i was at this game

I love this skit. Have seen it over 100times.
@feel194 Wittgenstein was born in 1889. Which is to say that the idea of one Great German Empire was dead for 18 years at the time of his birth.
@loqutor Epictetus was from Hierapolis (Turkey) and Empedocles was from Acraga (Sicily). So much for that.
i saw this in class 😀
LOL did not even notice Beckenbauer.
@loqutor its “großdeutsches reich” so german is okay
But…Wittgenstein was Austrian!
