Andres Iniesta has clearly stated that he is not going to part ways with Barcelona

Andres Iniesta has clearly stated that he is not going to part ways with Barcelona to feature in the Barclays Premier League.

There have been Barcelona players in the past who have turned to England, but, according to Iniesta, there is absolutely no chance of him following the footsteps of some of his former teammates.

In his talk to one of the popular Spanish dailies a few days ago, Iniesta, who is now also the skipper at Camp Nou, said, “The thought of going to EPL has never crossed my mind. As far as I am concerned, Barcelona is the best Football club in the world and I can’t be more happy and satisfied anywhere else.”

“I hope I go on and complete the contract that I have with Barca. That’s what I want.”

Actually since the time Pedro went to Chelsea, the rumours were hot that Iniesta might do something similar before this transfer window shuts down or maybe in the winter.

But, now with Iniesta clearing the air, those rumours would perhaps be put to rest.

Iniesta also talked about his feelings after being handed Barcelona captaincy on a full time basis. Continue reading “Andres Iniesta has clearly stated that he is not going to part ways with Barcelona”

Paul Pogba do not placed any bids

It has been denied by the Sky Blues that there are any bids placed from their side regarding Paul Pogba.

The reports are circling around in the Italian media that a 60-million Pound bid was placed.

Pogba is believed to be one of the two players topping the shortlist of the City management at the moment.

The other one is Raheem Sterling.

As far as Pogba is concerned, he was one of the best performers for Juventus in the European Cup last season.

Although, his efforts were not enough for his team to get to the glory in the epic final versus Barca, still he ended up receiving praises from all quarters for his all round show in the whole tournament.

Juventus is quite open to selling him though. Going by the words of the boss Allegri, one can assume that a big bid for the Frenchman might prompt the club to let him go.

A couple of days back, when Allegri was asked about Pogba’s transfer, he said, “It’s something that the board will have to decide, but, I must say when somebody comes with a big offer, it can get slightly hard not to have the deal finalized.” Continue reading “Paul Pogba do not placed any bids”

Chris Smalling has stated that the club should not be in a position

United defender Chris Smalling has stated that the club should not be in a position to celebrate a top four finish every season.

Instead, he wants the club to be challenging for titles like they once did under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson. United secured Champions League qualification after their main rivals Liverpool failed to take advantage of the recent dropped points. Despite three consecutive defeats in the league only a few weeks ago, United were able to seal the final fourth spot. However, they will miss out on a top three place that would give them direct access to the Champions League group stages after a 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

After struggling a lot with form and consistency in the first half of the campaign, United showed a lot of improvement towards the latter stages. It has been a major reason behind the top four finish. Smalling reckons that the club can build on this good form going into the next season. The former Fulham defender was one of the much improved players in the United team. His inexperience along with the lack of leadership at the back was seen as a major disadvantage. However, Phil Jones and Smalling have did extremely well in the latter stages of the season. Continue reading “Chris Smalling has stated that the club should not be in a position”

Manchester United are unlikely to get a number of their injured

Manchester United are unlikely to get a number of their injured stars back for the home match against Aston Villa according to manager Louis Van Gaal. Some of the players like Robin van Persie, Chris Smalling and Radamel Falcao continue to struggle for fitness.

As a result, United have not been held their full complement of players. Van Gaal has been showing in recent weeks while he is regarded as a great tactician. He has managed to overcome the disappointment of having keynames injured on the sidelines and has propelled United four successive victories in the league.

A fifth consecutive victory will see them overtake Manchester City – at least until Monday when Pellegrini’s team play against Crystal Palace – in the league. This will also spark hopes of a title with seven matches left after the tie at Old Trafford on Saturday. Villa will be an unknown quantity to United since they have been looking brilliant in the last few matches after the arrival of Tim Sherwood. The Red Devils had a comfortable victory over Villa in the reverse fixture, but it will be anything as comfortable this time around even though United are at home.Van Gaal has confirmed that the likes of Smalling and van Persie still need more recovery time. Juan Mata wants Club to finish in Top 4

Former Manchester United club record signing, Juan Mata, says that the club should finish in the top four at all costs this campaign.

The Spaniard was speaking after the club suffered a major setback in their efforts to put some distance between them and the chasing pack of Southampton, Arsenal, and Liverpool. United could have done so with a win against Swansea last weekend. However, it was not the case after the Red Devils suffered yet another 2-1 defeat against Gary Monk’s team. Mata did not start the match, but he was brought into the match during the last 11 minutes as United chased an equaliser.

The 26-year-old is not a regular first choice at United, which is surprising considering that he cost £ 37 million from Chelsea just over a year ago. Mata complained a lot about the lack of regular first-team football at Chelsea, but he has been less troublesome at Old Trafford. The former Valencia star has completed the full 90 minutes of action only three times since the start of the year. He did not have much of an impact against Swansea and this is unlikely to see him return to the starting line-up against Sunderland next week. However, Mata wants to be a team player right now and he has spoken about the importance of Champions League for the club. Continue reading “Juan Mata wants Club to finish in Top 4”
