Manchester United Threaten Break Away over Overseas TV Rights

The six top clubs from the Premier League are threatening to form a breakaway and go on separate ways if the Premier League is insistent upon spreading the overseas TV money across the division.

The Premier league is already regarded as one of the Communist top leagues in the world, as the television money has been evenly spread out across the division. As a result, the Premier league happens to be one of the most competitive divisions of the world. It is extremely difficult to predict games every weekend unlike at the likes of Italy, Spain, and Germany.

However, it is understood that several top clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea are not interested in the league distributing the overseas TV many across the 20 clubs. The top clubs are demanding around 35% of the next deal for the overseas TV rights. Right now, it is being split up equally across the 20 clubs. The 35th share will be determined on the basis of league position. In order to get this as a rule, there needs to be at least two thirds majority in order to go through. Jose Mourinho Happy with Transfer Activity at Manchester United

Jose Mourinho says that he is reasonably content with the signings made by Manchester United, even though the club may have missed out on a few transfer targets.

Mourinho has been extremely active in the transfer market in order to make United title contenders once again. The club have backed the manager with the signings of Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic, and Victor Lindelof amongst others. However, there have been players who have so far been out of the reach for the Red Devils. The most prominent transfer target has been Ivan Perisic, but United have been unable to come to terms with Inter Milan for the transfer of the 28-year-old.

United have spent more than £ 150 million on new players this summer. It has helped them make a strong start to the season with back-to-back 4-0 wins. Mourinho refused to rule out the possibility of seeing more signings before the end of the transfer market, but he says that his squad has been enriched compared to last season. Man Utd Predict Record Revenues for the 2016/17 Season

Manchester United have predicted a record rise in their annual revenue despite not lifting the Premier League or the Champions League title since 2013.

The Red Devils have also crept past Real Madrid to become the world’s richest club, according to a recent list released by KPMG.

The Mancunian giants were initially hoping to achieve a target of around £530m – £540m on revenues, but they seem to have surpassed the value with a sum close to £560m predicted for the financial year 2016/17. The new Premier League TV deal had had a huge role to play in the profits gained among the England’s elite, and United recorded a bump of 12.9 percent for the quarter to gain £31.4m.

Chief Executive Ed Woodward confirmed the record increase in revenues via a press release where he said: “We are forecasting better full-year financial performance than expected and as such have raised our revenue and profit guidance for the year,” Continue reading “Man Utd Predict Record Revenues for the 2016/17 Season”

DE GEA FIGHTS MOURINHO

Manchester United first choice goalkeeper David De Gea was reportedly dropped ahead of the club’s game against Sunderland last Sunday.

The Sun reports that the Portuguese tactician criticized him but the ‘talk’ did not go down well. The report claims that was why Mourinho played Sergio Romero during the game against David Moyes’ men instead of the Spaniard.

Mourinho said the keeper had a hip injury but further investigations show that Mourinho had been unhappy with the keeper’s performances. Manchester Evening News claimed that Mourinho alleged that De Gea was ‘sleeping’ in the goalless draw against West Bromich Albion few games back.

“David De Gea was sleeping and he did the funny thing at the end. I was laughing with that,” Mourinho said when the keeper let Darren Fletcher’s effort hit the bar during the game. It seems there was further private criticism that De Gea did not take lightly so a bust up ensured. The bust up likely led to the omission of the 26-year old keeper. Jose Mourinho again Disagrees with FA Decision

Jose Mourinho has already disagreed with a lot of the past decisions of the Football Association and the Portuguese is definitely going to be absolutely pissed off with another decision of the game’s governing body in England.

The thing is that Slaven Bilic has gotten away with only a fine for committing the same sort of mistake which Mourinho had committed some time back and was slapped a ban for.

Both the coaches actually let out their frustration on the objects that were kept there on the side-lines. So, why the punishment is different for the two? That’s a question which everyone would like to ask because it seems a clear case of partiality in the first look. Continue reading “Jose Mourinho again Disagrees with FA Decision”

Anthony Martial Dismisses Transfer Rumours to Paris St Germain

Anthony Martial has dismissed speculation that he is about to leave Manchester United.

There have been rumours about the forward considering a move to Paris St Germain after not featuring in the last two games for the club.

Martial reportedly felt that he was being made a scapegoat for the poor form experienced by the club in recent weeks. Martial has not been in manager Jose Mourinho’s frame for much of the first half of the campaign. It has been down to a period of struggle for the French striker, who has managed only two league goals this season.

Mourinho gave Martial an ultimatum prior to the FA Cup game against Wigan Athletic. If the French striker came in with a magnificent performance, he would be given opportunities in the Premier League and the Europa League. Even though the striker failed to score in the game, he provided two assists as United ran out 4-0 winners over the lower league opposition. Man Utd Facing £85 Million Champions League Loss

Manchester United stand to lose a hefty £85 million – primarily through sponsorship and TV money – if they failed to qualify for the Champions League next season. The club remain sixth in the table even after a brilliant 3-0 win over Leicester City during the weekend.

The result has certainly helped United take advantage of competitors like Arsenal and Liverpool dropping points. However, it seems that at least 6 teams will be involved in the fight for the top four places. There is a distinct possibility of United dropping out of the Champions League qualification for a second consecutive campaign. Continue reading “Man Utd Facing £85 Million Champions League Loss”

Is Porto’s Andre Silva in the radar of Jose Mourinho?

Recent rumors have been emerging and linking the 21 year old Portuguese attacker of Porto Andre Silva with a possible move to Manchester United.

Even though Silva is very young, he is already being targeted by various European clubs and even being considered as a possible replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

If rumors are indeed true, Manchester United are in pursuit of Andre Silva as the youngster can fill in the role of Ibrahimovic when his time in Old Trafford runs out. Zlatan Ibrahimovic currently has a contract with Manchester United until the end of the current season but the Premier League club does have the option of extending his contract for 1 more year.

Andre Silva has recently been attracting the eyes of the world as Barcelona, Manchester City and Real Madrid are a few of the other major European clubs that have shown interest in the possibility of signing the 21 year old attacker that has scored 7 goals in 10 appearances in the Portuguese league, the Primeira League with Porto.

One of the biggest obstacles that Manchester United or any of the other interested clubs might have in attempting to sign the 21 year old Andre Silva is his release clause which is at around £51 million, any club will have to at least offload £51 million for the Portuguese attacker.

Whether or not Andre Silva does decide to leave his current club Porto and join any of the other previously mentioned ones that are believed to be interested in signing him, this is something that only time will tell but with the winter transfer window edging nearer and nearer it’s a fairly realistic possibility to see the 21 year player making a move to another club in the near future.
